East Coast Adventure provides specialist support in delivering BTEC Sport, in a series of one day training courses or residential programmes.

We will support you in delivering the different aspects of the BTEC courses and can cover the majority of your unit during. We have a proven track record in vocational learning and assessment and this has been endorsed by repeat custom from many Schools and Colleges who use Edexcel. Such as Rathfriland High School (Leanne Forsythe).

Situated on the shores of Carlingford Lough and operating in the Mourne & Cooly Mountains, East Coast Adventure has all the natural recourses, perfect for any adventure training based programme. No artificial Climbing walls, no pools, just the Raw Outdoors.
The programmes are of 4 or 5 days duration and run throughout February, March, April, May, September, October and November.
Programmes can also be broken into single day training to suit you requirements.

On completion of the day students will have an understanding of the following:

- Show simple understanding of maps.
- Recognise common map symbols and define map colors.
- Orientate the map well, using terrain and compass.
- Navigate from one control to the next along a single line feature e.g. path.

Typical Day   
Arrive at East Coast Adventure - Introduction to the East Coast Team

Introduction to the following:
- Use of Scale - Use of Contours - Use of Legend - Orientating map to terrain - Orientate map using compass.
- Set the map - compass - Recognizing Control points - Navigate along a single line feature - Navigate from one control to the next

for Geographical field studies. The Mourne Mountains in Piratical are ideal for this field trips and practical
study classes.
