11. Report writing

One of the biggest complaints today in business is that of poorly written reports or projects. This course will give guidelines to ensure that all future reports follow are up to the required standards expected in your industry.

12. Appraisal Training

Performance appraisal is a necessary tool for the modern manager. This course looks at the planning and preparation needed before appraisal can take place. After the introduction of new systems, processes or the formation of new teams management ultimately need to know if they are working. This session provides staff with the skills needed to monitor and evaluate change so that it can be measured and understood. We will also look at paper-based systems for recording information and setting milestones for measuring the effects of change.

24. Marketing within business

This is a basic course which looks at the first principles of marketing and provides a platform for staff to look at the concept of marketing and understanding the 4 p’s. After this course staff will be able to contribute directly within the marketing team and conduct internal and external research.

25. Recruitment and selection

This enables staff to contribute to the process of recruitment and selection. It shows staff how to draw up job specifications, advertisements, interview questions, essential and desirable criteria, conduct the interview and recording procedures. We will also explore the legal aspects of recruitment.

26. Training the Trainers (can be an accredited course 6 days)

Most organisations prefer to conduct training internally rather than pay consultants to deliver programmes which staff are more than capable of delivering. This course enables staff to implement training surveys, design courses, make them exciting, maximize efficiency and evaluate training outcomes. We will look at the 15 methods of delivering information in a session.

27. Stress management at work

We will look at the effects of stress in the workplace. We will identify coping strategies for staff in dealing with stress. We will show staff how to carry out a stress management interview guide, understand the differences between physiological, emotional and behavioral stress in your staff. Comprehend your limits and know when to walk away.

28. Personal Effectiveness/Development

This is a course which looks at the individual and looks to draw up a personal development plan. This plan will enable a staff member to increase their effectiveness within the workplace. It will enable them to keep an accurate record of their own performance. A mentoring agreement will be part of the course.

This course looks at how to develop the skills of your team. It will also look at how you as a manager can have an active role in the development of your team. One of the most difficult jobs that any manager can face is to point out and deal with poor performance. This course does just that, it shows staff how to identify, quantify and deal with poor performance. It looks at the individual understanding their performance, accepting change and gives them coping strategies to be able to deal with it. It looks at target and goal setting for the individual to improve performance.

31. Dealing with discipline issues

This course links in with the whole concept of managing performance, setting boundaries and legal awareness. We look in detail at grievance procedures, disciplinary procedures and setting standards for behaviour.

32. Conflict resolution and problem solving

This is the most popular course in the public, private and voluntary sectors. It deals with negotiation skills and looks at the top 8 skills that are used worldwide. We look at the whole concept of body language and what it means. This course looks at the individual and how you cope with conflict and how to use the six stages to problem solving.
