Get the kids out this Winter for some serious shredding on the Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails.
Week 1: 18th Nov – Introduction
Skills session to determine the current skill level of each rider and identify strengths and areas of development.
We will have a skills course set up and a time trial slalom descent where we will use our timing system to measure progress.
Week 2: 25th Nov – Corners & Drops
This session will be all about how to get round corners and berms and learning or enhancing the manual drop off.
Week 3: 2nd Dec – Power assist wheel or wheelies, trail flow and bunny hops/jumps
This session will introduce the principle of trail flow and how to maintain speed safely and efficiently on the trail. We will also look at getting the front wheel off the ground using the peddles and introduce bunny hops and jumps.
Week 4: 9 Dec – Assessment of skills
We will set up all the same skills course as session one and reassess skills to measure performance. Feedback will be give to riders and parents with advice on the areas of development and next stage of progression.
On completion of sessions 1-4, riders will be awarded a cycling Ireland Level appropriate to their ability.
This programme is designed for those that can already ride a bike and specifically designed to encourage bike confidence and improve riding skills.
1:6 Ratio as per National Governing Body Guidelines.

- Weatherproof clothing is a necessity.
- Please ensure that the bike you turn up with is in full working order and brakes must work
